How do I record a Stripe withdrawal from my account for a customer refund?

Stripe will withdraw funds from my bank account to cover a customer refund. I'm not sure how I account for this withdrawal in QB as I use the undeposited funds account to put my sales in, then I do a bank transfer when stripe deposits funds.

Any help would be appreciated.

How do I record a Stripe withdrawal from my account for a customer refund?

Hey there, @breakloose

I'll help you record a customer refund in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

You can use refund receipts to record this transaction in QuickBooks. Here's how:

  1. Click + New.
  2. Select Refund receipt or Give refund.receipt.PNG
  3. Choose the customer from the Customer drop-down list.
  4. Click the Refund From ▼ drop-down list, then select the bank where you deposited the invoice payment.
  5. Add all products or services the customer returned in the Product/Service column.
  6. Make sure to fill in the date, quantity, rate, amount, sales tax, and other fields accordingly, then click Save and close.

There are also other methods when recording customer refunds. You can check them out in this article: Record a customer refund in QBO.

Keep me posted by leaving a comment below if you have additional questions about recording a refund. I'm always around to help you.
