It's my priority that you can record your entries with different currencies smoothly, nirpinder.

Based on the information you shared, it looks like your moving your funds from USD to EUR via journal entry. That’s why you run into an error. Let’s use the Transfer function to move funds between two accounts with different currencies.

It only takes a few steps to accomplish this task, and I’m here to help you. Here’s how:

  1. In QuickBooks Online (QBO), navigate to the New menu in the upper left and choose Transfer under Other.
  2. This will take you to a screen where you can move the funds.
  3. Click the Transfer Funds From drop-down and choose your USD account.
  4. Tap the Transfer Funds To drop-down to select your EUR account.
  5. Head to the Transfer Amount field and key in the amount being transferred.
  6. Enter the correct period of the entry in the Date box.
  7. Use the Memo field to note what happened to the entry.
  8. Click Save and close.

I've included a screenshot of what it should look like in QBO (sample entry).trx currency.png

For more insight into this process, see the following article: Transfer funds between accounts. From there, you’ll learn the different ways to move funds into your company (cheque, journal entry, and imported transactions). It outlines the complete instructions so you’ll be able to perform each one easily.

The resources below outline the complete steps to help move and receive funds from one company to the other. You’ll also see the instructions to transfer funds from a bank to a credit card account.

Keep me posted below if you have any additional questions about transferring funds with different currencies and accountants. I’ll be glad to provide clarifications and assistance. Wishing your business continued success.
