There's no need to create a new account in your chart of accounts. You'll also not find your bank in the Account type when creating a new account in your COA. What you need to do is you'll want to connect your bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online (QBO). Once connected, QBO will automatically create an account for your bank in your COA.
