Class Field When Reviewing Receipts is Missing

It seems there was an update to the "Receipt" review under Banking. I have Class tracking turned on but can no longer enter a Class when I review receipts (there is no Class field anywhere on the new review page). Now, every time I go to create an expense, I get a warning that this expense is missing a Class. I have to then open up the expense again to enter the Class.

I've tried receipt review in both Chrome and Safari browsers (thinking maybe the field was just out of pane due to a glitch) and tried tabbing through fields to find it but no luck.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Class Field When Reviewing Receipts is Missing

Let's perform some basic troubleshooting steps to fix this, jdemchap.

I'd suggest accessing our QuickBooks Online account via a private window. This helps us determine if this is a browser-related issue.

Here are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + P

After signing in, assign a class to your receipt. If you're able to do so, let's clear the browser's cache. This improves the performance of the program.

If the same thing happens, our QuickBooks Support Team can check and have this investigated. I'd recommend contacting them to determine the main cause of this.

For the old Help menu interface:

  1. Click the Help (?) icon at the top.
  2. Choose the Contact Us button.
  3. Type your issue or question on the What can we help you with box.
  4. Proceed with the Let's talk button.
  5. Select the Start messaging option.

For the new Help menu:

  1. Click the Help (?) icon at the top.
  2. Type Talk to a human.
  3. Enter your issue or question on the What can we help you with box.
  4. Choose I still need a human.
  5. Select the Start messaging option.

For more details about assigning and organising your customer and supplier transactions by class, please see this article: Track your Transactions by Class.

You can also run a report by class in QuickBooks to see your sales, costs, or profitability by segment. This helps you plan and set a budget by class

Thank you for your patience on this matter. Please let us know if you need help managing your transactions by class. We'll help you out as soon as possible.

Clearing the cache seemed to do the trick. Thanks!
