How can I switch to QB to manage multiple company files with a single one time license?

You can switch by using the desktop version of QuickBooks, @pavlos-gabaeridi. The program allows you to manage multiple company files with a single one time license. Let me provide further details about this.

QuickBooks Online (QBO) and QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) are two different platforms. With QBO, you can handle one company profile per subscription. This means you'll have to sign up for one account per company. While QBDT will let you create as many separate files you want using a single license.

Since you want to manage multiple company files with a single one time license, you can consider using the QBDT US version. You'll have to first download, install, and activate the program into your computer. Once done, that's the time to import your data to QBDT. Just make sure to back up your file for future use.

After you create a company file, you can start using QuickBooks right away. However, you still have to continue setting up your business to make sure your financial statements are accurate. To learn more about this, you can check out this US article: Get started with QuickBooks Desktop. It includes helpful links to perform each of your tasks in completing your company setup.

Please let me know if you have other concerns. I'm just around to help. Take care always.

@pavlos-gabaeridi

If you are using QBO non-US version, you have 2 options t migrate to QB Desktop US:

1. Utilize a 3rd party migration tool. i.e TPExporter for Online, TPImporter for Desktop

2. Purchase a 3rd party migration service

How can I switch to QB to manage multiple company files with a single one time license?

I've been using QB for many years.  I use QB Desktop 2022.  Recently I added an additional company file.  I had 4 on my computer.  When I added the 5th Company file, QB erased one of the other companies.  It will not allow me to add the 5th file.  What is going on?

Hi there. I'm here to ensure you can add the new files to your QuickBooks Desktop account.

You can have multiple company files in QuickBooks, but the storage capacity is limited to the available free space on your computer. Thus, the location where the company file is saved may be full. That's why it won't allow you to add or create the 5th file.

Furthermore, the "No Company Open" window may only display a certain number of files. To access previous files, click "Open or Restore Company File" and select the file location to open.

See this article for more details: Restoring your file in QuickBooks Desktop.

It's a good idea to back up your files frequently. It ensures that you always have an original copy of your file that you may recover anytime in case of data loss or damage.
