Can we migrate the data transaction by transaction instead of migrating the GL balances of last FY

We only migrate GL balance from previous year to QB currently. Going forward we want to migrate GL balance + transaction details of each account on QB. How to do that and is there a .csv format available for migration?

Can we migrate the data transaction by transaction instead of migrating the GL balances of last FY

Nice to see you here in the Community, @ID1607. I'll share some steps to help you migrate your data transactions into QuickBooks.

Your QuickBooks Online reports and lists can be exported in simple ways. The information you add to your file can therefore be readily downloaded to your local hard disk.

Though, you can export them into individual Excel files contained in a zip format in one process.

Reports: General Ledger, Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, Trial Balance, Journal.

Lists: Customers, Employees, Suppliers.

To export your report or list:

  1. Select the Settings ⚙ icon from the toolbar.
  2. Under Tools, select Export Data.
  3. On the Reports tab, set the date range.
  4. Add or remove items from the Reports and Lists tabs by toggling the slider.
  5. Select Export to Excel.

You'll be prompted with confirmation that the data has been exported. If you need to export a different report, here's how to export reports to Excel. For more details, open this article: Export data, reports, lists, and more from QuickBooks Online. It also contains steps on how to export non-posting transactions.

Another option that you may wish to consider is using a third-party application, which can integrate with the software. You can browse available apps at the following link: QuickBooks Apps.

For your banking transactions, you can upload the data via CSV file. QuickBooks supports a 3 or 4-column format for your banking data. For more information and detailed instructions, please go to this link: Import bank transactions using Excel CSV files.

After checking the format, you can follow these steps to import:

  1. On the left panel, go to the Banking menu and select Banking.
  2. Click File Upload
  3. Press Browse and choose the file.
  4. Select Open, then hit Next.
  5. Follow the instructions until finished, then select Let's Go

For complete instructions on how to upload your data, see this article: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.
