I'm here to help you import the bills, sy_jung-spigen-c.

You can go to the Gear > Import data > Bills and click the Download an example link to help you prepare your CSV (or Excel) file accurately. Please make sure to save the file where you can easily find it.

Here are the following columns that are required:

  • Bill no.
  • Supplier
  • Bill Date
  • Due Date
  • Account
  • Line Amount
  • Line Tax Code

Once done, go back to the Bills page and follow these steps:

  1. Under Upload your CSV file, click the Browse button and select your .csv file.
  2. Click Open, then hit NextNote: You are required to populate the Line Account field even if you are only importing bill totals. Note: If your CSV file contains new suppliers and accounts, you must import or add new suppliersaccounts, and customers before uploading the file.
  3. Map your column headings.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions until finish.

Please see this sample screenshot for a visual guide:

I appreciate you participating in this conversation. Let me address your concern about importing bills with items.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), limitations may apply when importing bills. Currently, we're unable to include the item details section. For this reason, it's not possible to bring them in, which would automatically increase inventory.

In the meantime, I suggest searching for a third-party tool to assist you in uploading them to QBO. To do that:

  1. Go to Apps and select Find Apps.
  2. Search for a keyword in the search bar and press Enter.
  3. Select an app and click Get app now to integrate.

While the program is unable to carry out this task, we suggest sharing your valuable input with our software engineers. This way, they can review your suggestion and possibly take it into account for our upcoming product improvements. To do that, go to the Gear icon and select Feedback.

Additionally, gaining an overview of your sales and expenses is a breeze if you generate reports in QBO. Doing so provides details about outstanding bills and their due dates, as well as all the transactions associated with each vendor.

Feel free to reach out back to us whenever you need additional help with importing bills with items. I'm more than willing to assist you further. Stay safe.
