Invoice Import and auto update of data

With regards to quickbooks online I just have a small query. That if we have a lot of line items on our invoices hence to record them as sale and importing them would be much easier. However I just wanted to confirm that if we import an invoice with same line items so will the cost of sale/inventory be automatically updated as well in case of importing a sale invoice?. Thanks in advance.

Invoice Import and auto update of data

As long as Products and Services were added, QuickBooks automatically updates everything, @Molecules.

When importing data like invoices to QuickBooks Online, make sure details and spreadsheet column headings match with QuickBooks fields. That way, cost sales and inventories stay accurate.

I have a detailed guide here that’ll help you import invoices properly. Let me show you how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Import data.
  2. Select Invoices.
    Capture.PNG
  3. Click Browse and then find and select the spreadsheet of your invoices.
  4. Select Next.
    Capture.PNG
  5. Map the column headers with invoice fields in QuickBooks. Fields with an asterisk (*) are required.
  6. Select the date format you used, like DD/MM/YYYY.
  7. Pick Exclusive or Inclusive as your tax option.
  8. Press Next.

You can map each of your column headings to the invoice fields during the import. Take a look at what's required to import invoices. Or you download this sample spreadsheet for your reference.

In case you need the information to track your inventory in the program, feel free to visit the link to learn more. It provides you access to see its status and performance.

I’ll be here if you need additional help with importing process. Have a great day ahead!
