Is it possible to scan a receipt and then have it import to Quickbooks? It used to work before they removed the scan receipt option, so how do I do it now?

We have a number of items / services that we have to pay cash and get a receipt for. how do I import these to my expenses without having to have one scan program and then manually enter each one.
I am currently scanning them with Adobe scan. I was told it could be done but have no idea how. Help?

Hi there, @turquoiseturtlec.

Let me share some insights on how you can keep track of your receipts.

Right now, the option to scan and import receipts is unavailable in the QuickBooks Online (QBO) Global region. In the meantime, you may consider looking for a third-party application to help scan and import receipts. To view a wide range of options, use specific keywords to narrow the search. You can check the reviews from other customers to help you decide which app suits your business type and needs.

To look for an app, here's how:

  1. On your QBO account, click Apps in the left menu.
  2. Go to the Finds Apps tab.
  3. In the search tab, type in the app you're looking for.

In addition, you can enter the receipts manually by creating an expense or a cheque. Then, attach the receipt on it. To do this, here's how:

  1. On your QBO account, click the + New button in the left menu.
  2. Select Expense or Cheque.
  3. Choose Attachments.
  4. Browse and select the document you want to attach.
  5. Fill in the necessary fields.
  6. Click Save and close.
