QuickBooks Online (QBO) uses reorder points to notify you when items are getting low or out of stock. A reorder point is the threshold when you should reorder more of an inventory item. We'll assist you in setting them up to ensure that you always have what your customers desire. You'll want to turn on inventory tracking first. To begin, these are the steps:
- Go to the Gear icon and then Select Account and Settings.
- Select Sales and then click the Edit (pencil icon) in the Products and services section.
- Turn on Show Product/Service column on sales forms.
- Turn on both Track quantity and price/rate and Track inventory quantity on hand.
- Select Save and then Done.
Once done, you can then proceed to your add your inventory products. For the steps, you can refer to this article about how to add inventory products in QuickBooks Online.
You'll then edit a product to add a reorder point. Here's how:
- Go to Sales and then Products and Services.
- Find the product you want to have a reorder point.
- Select Edit (pencil) icon in the Action column.
- In the Reorder point field, add the threshold when you should reorder more stock.
- Select Save and close once done.
