Hi there, @useradam1

Thanks for asking us here in the Community. Yes, you can use any email you prefer when sending an invoice.

For future reference, you may also want to email or print multiple invoices

I'm always around here to answer all your questions about QuickBooks. Take care.

That's not true. I just tested it. Alias addresses don't show up on QuickBooks; not even if it's set as default address on Gmail. Would be nice if you fixed this.

Nice to have you joined this thread, @brogr.

I admire you for testing it in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account. I'd be delighted to share with you a couple of steps on how to add an alias email address to your invoice.

You'll just have to ensure you use a different customer-facing email address. This way, it'll show a different email address in your invoice and not your company email address. I'll show you how.

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Account and settings.
  3. Click the Company menu and select the Contact info section.
  4. Enter your alias email in the Customer-facing email field. 2.PNG
  5. Click Save and then Done.

If you're referring to using another Gmail address, you can only use one Gmail address per company. For more details about this, you can utilize this article for guidance: Send invoices from your Gmail address FAQ.

Once you're all set, you might want to check out this link for reference on how to customise your invoices base on the data you need: Customise invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

I'll be around if you need more help modifying your email address or invoices. Please feel free to tag me in your response and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Have a good one and always keep safe!

Sorry, but your reply is irrelevant / off-topic. We're discussing the feature to add Gmail addresses as sender for invoices. Contrary to the earlier reply, it's not possible to add Gmail alias addresses through your feature.

Thanks for your prompt reply, @brogr.

Let me clarify a few things about how you can add your Gmail address as a sender for invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

QBO uses the company email as the default email address that will show up when you make an invoice to your customers.

If you want to use another email address or an alias address that is associated with QBO, then you can follow the steps provided by my colleague @JasroV above.

Additionally, you can also check out this article to learn more about using your Gmail address to send invoices in QuickBooks Online.

Furthermore, visit this article for the FAQ on sending invoices from your Gmail.

Feel free to reach out again if you have any other questions. I’d be more than willing to lend you a hand. Take care and have a great day!

In Gmail, one can configure alias addresses, serving as aliases to the gmail.com account address. The question was whether your interface to send invoices through Gmail allows one to use these Gmail alias addresses to send invoices. Unfortunately your replies don't answer this question. I've tested it and it's not possible: Your Gmail feature only makes the gmail.com account address available, but none of the Gmail alias addresses.

I have run into the exact same issue with the exact same option being suggested. The team does not understand that the Gmail account being used can send emails as multiple different email addresses that are aliases for that account. When one selects from the "Send email" screen's From pick list you have the option of selecting either the @notification.intuit.com email that is set up for accounts or the primary email address of a GMail account. There is no way to edit the email address of the account such that one of the aliases configured on the GMail platform is used. This is what is necessary to make the desired function possible.

I hope this additional info will clear it up and allow for a useful feature to be implemented. I am not going to hold my breath though as I am still waiting on the ability to have non-home currency products and services 2 years after logging a request for that.

Hi Joxxe,

Thank you for participating in the thread and requesting to change the email source.

While using your own email address as the source or From email on electronic transactions is not a feature at the moment, I recommend submitting your request through our Feedback channel. This way, your suggestion will go straight to our product engineers.

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Feedback.
  3. Enter a sentence or two to describe your suggestion and click Next.

Feel free to go back to this thread if you have other questions in mind. Have a good one!

I know how important it is for you to send invoices from an alias email, AviGr. Let me share some insights about this preference.

I can see how valuable and beneficial the option to send emails using aliases. This option isn't available in QuickBooks now. The good news is that our engineers are working nonstop to enhance the product and deliver the best experiences for all QuickBooks users. Thus, you can proactively send a feature request directly to our product developers. This way, they can evaluate the possibility of incorporating this in future updates.

To start:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then Feedback.
  2. Enter your comments or product suggestions.
  3. Tap Next to submit.

Once done, your valuable suggestion goes to our Product Development team to help improve your QBO experience. You can track feature requests through the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website.

I'm including this link for additional tips on sending invoices from QuickBooks: Create and send an invoice.

Additionally, here's how you can track payments once your clients pay their dues: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks Online.

Please notify me in the comment section below if you have other questions while sending invoices from our system. I'm just a few clicks away to help you again. Have a good one!

Then instead of giving a nothing burger of a response how about you add the feature request and post the ticket info on the thread so we can all look to track it with requests against the ticket? Providing feedback for this and many other issues and functional gaps over the last 4 years has resulted in exactly NO changes implemented or features added for me with the new features that are implemented being of little to no value.

Product Management should be listening to clients to implement features that will improve the product and address client needs, I just don't see it.

A relatively obvious (although not ideal) workaround is to change your email address in gmail to the alias you want to use in quickbooks. Your main address will become an alias, and still be useable as far as I can tell.  I imagine there may be some other headaches that will arise from doing this, although I haven't found them yet. I don't suppose they will be as bad as wasting hours trying to make this work in the first place!  Ha ha. I think the real problem might be googles functionality, as they don't offer you the ability to choose an alias in when setting this up.  Ideally, you would perform the login in to google in quickbooks, and quickbooks would ask you which one of your email addresses you wanted to use.   Hope this helps someone!
