Hello, @emma.r.gargan.

Let's make sure to add your company registration number in your invoice template. I can guide you on how to do it.

  1. Go the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Custom Form Styles.
  3. Select the Invoice template you're using.
  4. From the Actions column, click Edit.
  5. Pick the Content tab.
  6. Select the Header part on the sample invoice.
  7. Click the Company registration number link.
  8. Enter the company tax number in the CRN field.
  9. Click Done.

Once completed, you can try create an invoice again. It should show your TRN as Govt. UID xxxxxxxxx.

You can read through this article for more detailed information about personalising your sales forms: Customise invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

Hi, Thank you, that is so helpful. It is now added. However there is one small issue still.

It now displays likes this, TRN 00000 above the Govt UID number? How do I delete this. This doesn't appear in the 'custom display form' only the actual invoice itself. I have also checked account and settings and cannot see this here either.

The Govt UID TRN number displays perfectly, I have just xxx for the sake of confidentiality.

TRN 00000
Govt. UID TRN xxxxxx

You can leave the Business ID No. blank on your Tax page, @emma.r.gargan.

This TRN number will show once you’ve set up or added this to your tax settings. You can remove the number from there. Let me show you how:

  1. Go to the Taxes menu.
  2. Edit your settings.
  3. Remove the number on the field then click Save.

I know how beneficial it is to have the ability to remove the Govt. UID on the invoice, TheZentral.

The "Govt. UID" or "TRN No." on an invoice in QuickBooks Online depends on the specific requirements of your country's tax regulations.

In some countries, such as the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the "Govt. UID" refers to the unique Tax Registration Number (TRN) issued by the government for Value Added Tax (VAT) purposes. This number is required to be displayed on invoices for compliance with tax regulations. Similarly, "TRN No." may also refer to the same tax registration number.

If your business operates in a country where the "Govt. UID" or "TRN No." is a mandatory requirement for invoices, it is crucial to include it accurately. Failing to include the required tax identification number may result in non-compliance with tax regulations and potential penalties.

With that said, removing the Govt. UID on an invoice is not possible. I would suggest submitting feedback directly to our product engineers.
