Hi, s-copier. You can manually adjust your tax settings and invoice details. QuickBooks calculates your total tax rate based on your business location, where you sell and ship, and your customers' tax status.
To reset your tax agency back to Hong Kong, navigate to All apps > Tax > Overview > Set up tax and enter the correct Tax name along with the Tax agency name for your Hong Kong business. Additionally, provide your Hong Kong Business ID No. After that, select the Start of current tax period, Filing frequency, and Reporting method, and then click Next > OK.
After correcting your tax settings, ensure future invoices are accurate by double-checking the location of sale when creating invoices or sales receipts. Also, verify that the shipping details, including Shipping to and Ship via, are correct, as this influences tax calculations. Make sure your customers' billing and shipping addresses are accurate.

I have followed the steps, but the system still treats my account as being in Malaysia. When I try to change the tax setup, I’m not given the option to switch the location to Hong Kong.
My company is registered in Hong Kong, and I need the tax agency to reflect Hong Kong (no VAT), not Malaysia SST.
Could you please advise how to correctly reset the tax region to Hong Kong on my account?
Did anyone help you sign up for your QBO account? Or perhaps you were in Malaysia when you signed up for your QBO account?
Sales helped me setup. And yes I was in Malaysia when I signed up but that should not matter, the first year the invoice was correct. Only after a year it suddenly changed to Malaysia.
You'll need to contact Support via chat to resolve this issue. As a last resort, you can purchase a third-party service to migrate your data to QBO HongKong version.
The live chat never worked for me. I always get the same error messages.
And even Call back does not recognise my phone number in what ever format I enter it.
I will have to migrate away from Quickbooks to a competitors when the service is this horrible.
Then, you should purchase a third-party service to convert your data to another accounting app immediately.
I understand the urgency on this matter. As an alternative option for contacting our support, you can use this link: How do I get help for other Intuit products?
