Hi there, @Practus.

Let's perform some troubleshooting steps so you can turn on the Import Style option and import your customized invoice template.

Since you can't find the Import Style option from the QuickBooks Labs, let's try accessing your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account via a private browser. There are times that the browser stores frequently accessed data, thus causin QBO to act weirdly. Press this shortcut key on your keyboard to open a private browser:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Option P

Once logged in, go back and try to turn on the option again to double-check. If this works, it means that you need to clear the browser's cache so the system can start fresh. If you get the same result while using a private browser, I recommend switching to a different one.

However, if you can't still find the option, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Support Team. This way, they can further look into this matter and provide additional troubleshooting steps. They can also create an investigation ticket if other users are experiencing the same.

Hi Mark,

Thank you for the solution. I tried working it in Private mode but the problem remains the same. I am yet not able to view the option. Is there any other solution? Thanks in advance.

Good day, Practus!

Allow me to join your post so I can help you in customizing your sales forms.

I know that being able to import a customised sales form is a great option. As of 06/29/2021, this is no longer supported to all-new QuickBooks Online accounts. This is the reason why you can't find it anymore inside of QuickBooks Labs.

You'll want to make use of our templates. QuickBooks Online still has a built-in editor to personalise your sales forms. Check the detailed steps here: Customise invoices, estimates, and sales receipts.

Do you need help in reviewing your sales transactions? Check this link: View sales transactions.

Leave a comment below if you have other concerns with sales forms. I'm here to help!

Hi Alex,

thanks for the clarification. I joined QB in July 2021 and I am slightly disappointed to read that a - in your words - 'great option' is no longer supported as I too think it is a great option to be able to upload customized forms. Particularly as the QB templates do not suit my business.

Is there any way for a workaround?

Thanks for joining us here today, @Fellener.

I know how imperative it is to be able to import an invoice style. Since this option is now unavailable, you'll want to make use of the built-in editor to personalise your sales forms. Let me guide you on how to do it.

  1. Go to Gear.
  2. Select Custom Form Styles.
  3. Click New Style
  4. Pick a sales form type. Follow the steps that'll guide you through the rest.

For in-depth steps, refer to this guide: Customise invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, here's a link that covers all the tasks you can do when using the customer feature. Just choose a topic that fits your concern.

If you have follow-up questions or concerns with invoices, please don't hesitate to reply. I'll be around for you. Take care and have a lovely weekend.

Hi,

thank you for the reply.

I am well aware of the possibilities (and their limitations) to customize forms within QB. I was searching for an option to upload my personalized form from outside QB. If that's not possible please let me know.

Hello there, @Fellener.

I got the point on how important to have a direct option to import template within your QBO account.

The option to import our own template in QuickBooks is no longer available. However, you can check for a third-party app that helps upload your personalized form from outside QuickBooks. Integrated applications are available to download through the QuickBooks App Store.

You can try searching for the app within your QuickBooks Online account. Follow these steps:

  1. On the left panel, click Apps.
  2. Go to the Find Apps tab.
  3. Use the search bar to look for an app.

You can keep in touch if you have other questions. We're here to help if you need one. Take care always.
