Recurring invoice - scheduled - first payment date is same as the date of creation - problems with invoice being sent.

When creating a recurring invoice and scheduling it to be sent on the same day it is being setup, are there any guidelines that will not send it on the same day as it is being created?

I set the first invoice date as today, 2/5/2021, but upon saving the recurring invoice with automatic emails selected so the invoice would send automatically, my client didn't get it today.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @razwerks,

Thank you for posting here in the Community. I can share some clarification about the recurring transactions in QuickBooks.

When choosing a start date for the recurring invoice, it should be at least one day in the future. It's created automatically during the first half of the day.

Selecting a day in the future ensures that the first instance will be on the exact date. If you need to create one for 2/5/2021, I recommend entering the invoice manually.

Here's how:

  1. Click the + New option.
  2. Select Invoice
  3. Enter the necessary information.
  4. Hit Save and send or Save and close.
