When adding a bill for purchase of inventory, it does not allow you to put the quantities, is there away to add that?

When adding a bill for purchase of inventory, it does not allow you to put the quantities, is there away to add that?

Thanks for posting your concern, @jo-annc-hotmail-. It's always great to see a new face here in the Community. I'll be glad to share some steps on how to add quantities on Bill.

 

To get started, let's configure the Expenses setting so you can add quantities into line items on a bill. Let me show you how.

 

  1. In the upper right hand, go to the Gear icon and choose Account and Settings.Capture.PNG
  2. Select the Expenses menu on the left panel and click on the Pencil icon for Bills and expenses to update the setup.Capture.PNG
  3. Mark the box for the Show Items table on expense and purchase forms.
  4. Click on Save and Done to apply the changes.

Once done, you can no create a Bill with a quantity. For more information see this article: Enter bills and record bill payments in QuickBooks Online. It also contains steps on how to record the payments.
