Can i know how to record gas cylinders collected by retailers using cylinders serialnumber and when returned the retailer will be cleare

Yes, you can, mukh. I'm here to help you out with the process.

We can record the gas cylinders collected by retailers as invoices and sales receipts. Beforehand, let's track the items to the program. You may add the serial number in the SKU field. For the detailed process, please see this article: Set up and track your inventory in QuickBooks Online.

After adding the items, I'll show you how to add an invoice or sales receipt.

Track Invoice:

  1. Go to + New and then select Invoice.
  2. From the Customer drop-down menu, select a customer.
  3. Select the item you've added and enter the amount.
  4. Add the necessary details to complete the transaction.
  5. Once done, click Save and close.

Record Sales receipt:

  1. From + New, select Sales receipt
  2. Select the client from the Customer drop-down menu.
  3. Add the sales info, such as the payment method.
  4. Enter line items for the items you sold and the amount.
  5. After that, select Save and close.

We can add the retailers in QuickBooks by utilizing the Class feature. This enables you to monitor your transactions based on various segments in your business, such as departments or product lines, providing you with a more organized and meaningful way to track your data.

As for recording the returned items, we can track a refund. I'd suggest checking out this article to help you properly handle the transactions based on various scenarios: Customer's Refund.

Additionally, I've added an article that'll help you instantly see your best sellers, what’s on hand, the cost of goods, and more in QuickBooks: Run Reports to See Inventory Status and Performance.

Please keep us posted if you need additional assistance tracking your sales and expenses data in QuickBooks. We value your business and look forward to adding the transactions successfully.
