Can our previous accountant transfer the billing and primary admin role to us as client? She is claiming that this is not feasible since the billing is under her account.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), the Primary Admin and billing roles can be transferred to you as the client. However, assistance from your previous accountant may still be required. Allow me to explain further.

Since your previous accountant is the current Primary Admin, they will need to manually assign you as the new Primary Admin in the system.

Here's how they can do that:
 

1. Go to Settings, then select Manage Users.
2. Locate your profile.
3. Click on your name and change your role to Primary Admin.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm the transfer.
    

Regarding billing transfer, if your accountant created the QuickBooks Online subscription under their own Intuit account, the billing ownership cannot be transferred directly to you without canceling the current subscription.

In this case, you would need to set up a new subscription under your own payment and email information. Before proceeding, you can use QuickBooks tools to easily migrate your data. Follow these steps to set up a new subscription and enter your payment details:

3. Enter your payment information.
