How do I resolve? This transaction was on or before your company's closing date. Deleting the transaction will affect your books. Please enter the password to continue.

Hello, @sangee.

 

You may have turned on the close your books feature in your QuickBooks account. This is why you're being prompted to enter a password.  Let me guide you in updating the password you used in closing your books. Just a heads up, only admins can make these changes.

 

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online as a master admin or company admin.
  2. Go to the Gear icon.
  3. Choose Accounts and Settings.
  4. Select the Advanced tab.
  5. Click the Edit pencil icon in the Accounting section.
  6. Change the closing date and enter a new password and confirm it.
  7. Click the Save button.
  8. Hit Done.

Once completed, you can now start managing your transactions.
