Hello there, Genius. You need to create an invoice for $3,000 and record a payment of 60% of this amount.

Here's how:

  1. Click + New and select the Invoice.
  2. Select your Customer (the student or government entity).
  3. Add the service item and enter 3,000 in the amount field.
  4. Then, click Save and close.

When the 60% payment arrives at your bank, you need to show that the corresponding portion of the invoice has been paid.

Follow the steps below:

  1. Click + New and select Receive Payment.
  2. Select the Customer.
  3. In the Amount Received field, enter 1,800.
  4. Check the box next to the 3,000 invoice in the list below.
  5. Click Save and close. Note: The invoice status will now show as "Partial" with 1,200 AED remaining.

If the remaining balance is to be paid, we can record the Receive Payment again to close the transaction.

If you won't be receiving the remaining unpaid total, you can follow these steps to write it off as bad debt.

Additionally, you can also consult your accountant for advice on how to record this and choose a category for it.

Let me know if you have any other concerns.
