Quickbooks did not automatically transfer my net profit to retained earnings. how to make that happen??

Hello, melnaggar.

QBO will automatically add the net income from the previous fiscal year to your Balance Sheet as Retained Earnings. Also the Retained Earnings account will show once you'll close the books.

Once closed, that's the time the program will automatically move your profits to a Retained Earnings account.

Afterward, you can view all your retained earnings in the Balance Sheet report.

Here's how:

  1. To view your Retained Earnings in the Balance Sheet:

    1. Select Reports.
    2. Locate and select the Balance Sheet to open it.
    3. In the report, locate the Retained Earnings item to see your company's reported net income.

You can use this article as your guide on how to view retained earning account details in QuickBooks Online.

I'm also attaching these handy articles for your reference.
