"cannot determine note type (code: "PLT_2000") This is an error when I click on "record payment" in VAT module, what is wrong? what can I do to resolve this?

I have several entries made for open balances as starting point in QBO account. Those with controlling account were posted per detailed balances (A/P and A/R), customers deposit, advances to suppliers and others, and the rest of the balance sheet accounts. I used the latest FY balances as of 03.31.2023.   At the end of everything I did some journal entries to put some balances in the correct figures : VAT payable, cash balances, VAT payable (payments). in the end I have VAT suspense account that matches my ledger and now I want to post payments for my VAT suspense balance.  I cannot get through and instead got this warning:
"cannot determine note type (code: "PLT_2000") 

This is an error when I click on "record payment" in VAT module, what is wrong? what can I do to resolve this?

Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to resolve the error, MSdel.

 

Browsers keep a cache of files and images for recently visited websites to avoid the need to download them every time one visits a page. That's one of the reasons why it may cause some unusual responses.

 

To isolate this, you can log into your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account in a private window (incognito). Here's how:
 

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome).
  • Ctrl + Shift + P (Firefox).
  • Control + Option + P (Safari).
  • Press Ctrl + Shift + N (Microsoft Edge).

 

Once done, double-check if you're still experiencing the issue. If not, return to your default browser and clear the cache to speed up the loading process. Every so often the cache becomes overwhelmed with older data which can potentially cause viewing and performance issues. You can clear it to refresh the system, and you'll be able to work with a clean slate. However, if the issue persists, try using other supported browsers.
