Cannot update credit card information outside us

I live outside of the US and want to update my credit card info however I do not receive the option to change country. I have to fill out a US state and zipcode

When you sign up for QuickBooks Online (QBO), the region you selected is the country that associates with your Intuit login. It’s likely you’re subscribed to a US version of the program. This might be the reason you have no option to change the country and it prompts you to fill out a US state and zip code.

To help fix this, let’s first cancel your US subscription. Then, sign up for an International version specific to your country. This way, you’ll be able to update your credit card information.

To cancel the US subscription:

  1. Sign in to your QBO company as an admin user.
  2. Go to the Settings (Gear) icon at the upper right.
  3. Choose Account and Settings.
  4. Go to Billing & Subscription from the left menu.
  5. Select Cancel or Cancel Trial in the QuickBooks section.
  6. Follow the steps on the screen to cancel your subscription.

To sign up for an International version:

  1. Go to https://quickbooks.intuit.com/choose-country/.
  2. Select the continent, then choose your country from the list. This will route you to the region’s website.
  3. Scroll down the page, select See Plans & Pricing.
  4. Choose the QBO version that you need.
  5. Select Buy Now.
  6. If you have an existing QBO account, click Add another company. If not, enter you email address and login credentials to create a new one.

Once signed up, you can update the payment information for your subscription.

I am having the same problem, but are you saying that I have to lose 2 years of entries that I made in the US version?  Is there a way to migrate the information over the the International Version or my country specific version?  Also, what about the loss of functionality eg. not being able to do printed cheques in the country specific version.  Please answer these important questions, as cancelling and starting from scratch is not an attractive option!

Are there any other payment methods such as Paypal that might work?

Allow me to join the thread, @bgibbs.

 

Each version (country) of QuickBooks is assigned to a different server. Therefore, we don't have the option to migrate information from the US version to the International version.

 

All you have to do is to export the data from the US version and import them to the international version of QuickBooks. 

 

To export your report or list:

 

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.
  2. Go to the Gear icon.
  3. Under Tools, select Export Data.
  4. On the Reports tab, set the desired date range.
  5. Add or remove items from the Reports and Lists tabs by toggling the slider.
  6. Select Export to Excel.

Cannot update credit card information outside us

We are located in Barbados but were using the US Version in order to have the cheque printing functionality.  Up until recently, I was able to pay the subscription using a local credit card.  However, when I went to renew this month, I am being forced to fill out payment details for the card that demand a State and Zip Code.  This was not an issue before.

You have to use Global version in Barbados now.
