Consistently Prompted To Enter Text Code in QB Online

I access QB Online across several computers.

Recently, I have consistently been prompted to verify via text or email that I am logging in.

I wish to turn this off as I do not want to have to constantly verify.

How do I do this and turn this off?

I can share some information about the mobile and desktop app and on how to add a new member to your account, @troy1.

The mobile application and the Windows or MAC desktop app has a different interface. There are some features that you can in the desktop app that you can't in the mobile app. You can check these article for more information:

To add a new member or user to your account, you can go to the Manage users section. Also, you must be the primary admin or the company admin to send them an invitation.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon (⚙) and then Manage users
  2. Click on Add user and set the user type you want to create and click on Next.
  3. Select the user's access rights and click on Next.
  4. Enter your member's name and email address.
  5. Hit on Save once you're done.

See this article for more information in managing your new users or members: Add and manage users in QuickBooks Online.

To know more about the available user roles and access permissions, go to this article: User roles and access rights in QuickBooks Online

Please let me know if you have other concerns with adding new users to your account and or anything else. I'm just around to help. Take care and have a wonderful day!

Consistently Prompted To Enter Text Code in QB Online

Hello there, @troy1.

Currently, we're unable to turn off this security feature when you log in to QuickBooks Online across several computers.

To avoid this prompt, I'd suggest using our QuickBooks Online (QBO) mobile application. This way, you'll have an option to login using the fingerprint sensor without entering the security code sent via text.

You can download QuickBooks Online through Google Play and Apple Store for free using your Android or iPhone.

Once done, open the app and enter your credentials. Once logged in, tap the Gear icon and then go to Security Settings to enable fingerprint authentication.

Additionally, you can visit this write-up: Compare mobile app features. It provides you more information on what options you can access on the customer side as well as a chart to easily compare feature availability on supported devices.

Even if the article is for QuickBooks Online (QBO) US, the same concept can be applied to an international account.

If I can be of any more assistance, please feel free to comment again. I want to ensure that you can login faster to your QBO account. Take care, and enjoy the rest of the day.

What about adding the Windows or Mac desktop app? Would that accomplish the same idea as well?

Additionally, if I am a firm owner and want to add a member to my firm so they can see my clients, how do I do so?

With the desktop app, does it eliminate the continuous login prompts for text code verification?

Thanks for getting back to us here, @troy1.

I have some information about the verification code. This process is part of the security settings to confirm that you're the one signing in to your account. Thus, using the desktop app won't stop the verification process. You'll want to consider the workaround provided by Jovychris_A. This way, you'll have the option to use the fingerprint sensor instead of entering the security code sent via text.

Learn more about the verification process at this link: Turn on or turn off two-step verification.

You can also visit our page if you need help with other tasks in QBO. Just look for responses that suit your concern.
