I'll be sharing possible reasons for accessing the QuickBooks account and its subscription.
QuickBooks Online has the option to pay monthly. When a paid subscription expires, your data will be available for a year. But, you'll only have read-only access when opening your account. That could be the reason why you're unable to use your QBO account now.
However, if you haven't tried accessing your QBO account in a private browser. You can log in from there to see if it's working. Follow the shortcut keys below:
If it works, go back to a regular browser and clear the cache. A piled cache can also be the reason for some unexpected issues on the opened pages.
If your subscription is in for monthly payment, you'll be paying it based on the subscription rate you have. To determine and verify the real reason why your subscription is doubling the price, I'd suggest giving us a short call. We'll need to gather some of your personal details to pull up your account in a secure environment. This way, we'll know the status of your subscription.

Your discounted rate is expired and you have to pay the regular rate now. You may purchase a new blank QBO account with the same email address to get the discounted rate for a few months and cancel the old one.
