Edit/Chnage Company name in /companysel page

Glad to see you here in the Community, @Imeko.

I'd be happy to walk you through how you can update your company details in QuickBooks Online.

Updating your company information can be done from the Accounts and Settings page on your account.

I'll guide you on how to do that:

  1. Select the Gear icon at the top.
  2. Press on Account and Settings
  3. Tick on Company from the left menu.
  4. In the Company section, Select the Pencil icon
  5. Make the necessary changes. You can select Add legal name if your company's legal name is different from your company name.
  6. Press on Save, then Done.

To give you more insights about editing your company details in the system, feel free to visit this reference: Change company name, address, email address and privacy settings.

However, if you received an error message or you're not able to update it, I recommend accessing your account on a private window and modify the company name from there.

Web-based platforms like QBO gathers cache files (cookies) to save you time when loading repetitive data and images. These files can often become outdated or corrupted, causing unexpected behavior in the system.

You can open a Private Window in all supported browsers using the corresponding keyboard shortcut below:

  • Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N
  • Internet Explorer: Ctrl+Shift+P
  • Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+P
  • Safari: Command+Shift+N

If it works fine, you can now go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. This eliminates unnecessary cache files and refreshes your data.

You can always utilize this link to give you more information about the browsers that work best in QuickBook Online: Find out what computer and browser you need for the best QuickBooks experience.

Please get back to me if you're referring to something else or if you have any other questions by leaving a reply below. Take care!
