Can I can input my production of eggs and birds into QuickBooks for my poultry farm?

It's nice to see you here today, @grahamfarmsgh-gm. Yes, you can enter the production of your eggs and birds in QuickBooks Online (QBO. I've got the steps to set them up for your poultry business.

First, let's enable the inventory tracking feature in the settings. This way, you can add the eggs and birds in the program. Please take note that this is available in the Plus version. I'll guide you how.

  1. Go to the Settings (⚙ ) icon at the upper right.
  2. Select Account and Settings under Your Company
  3. Choose the Sales tab.
  4. Click Products and services.
  5. Check the Show Product/Service column on sales forms box.
  6. Turn on both Track quantity and price/rate and Track stock quantity on hand.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Choose Done.

The screenshot below shows you the last six steps.

Second, let's go to the Products and Services page to set up the items for eggs and birds. Here's how:

  1. Go to Sales from the left menu.
  2. Select Products and Services.
  3. Click New.
  4. Choose Inventory in the Product/Service information window.
  5. Enter a Name (Eggs)SKU, and select Category
  6. Add your product’s Initial quantity on handAs of date, and Reorder point
  7. Choose the appropriate inventory asset, income, and expense accounts.
  8. Enter the Sales price/rate
  9. Click Save and close

View the screenshot below to show you the last five steps. Just repeat the process above to set up an item for the birds' production. For the detailed instructions, check out this article: Adding Inventory Products

Once done, you can track the production of your eggs and birds when you sell them. Just create an invoice or a sales receipt in QBO. Then, restock your inventory if it's running low or out of stock. Also, you can run reports to view your sales and inventory status. For more details, see Step 3 to through this article: Setting Up And Tracking Your Inventory

I'll be right here to help if there's anything else you need. I'll gladly help, @grahamfarmsgh-gm.
