Change Account Type

Congratulations on making your first post here, @rprjr . I’ll help you modify your Account Type on your Chart of Accounts.

To clarify, are you using the Business view? If so, you’ll want to switch it into the Accountant view to have the complete control of your Chart of Accounts. Please know that each view has different features, menus, and button names.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Switch to Accountant view.

By doing this, you’ll have more options to change the information about your accounting data. From there, you can edit the account type.

You can also refer to this article to learn more about each view: Switch between Business and Accountant view in QuickBooks Online.

Once everything is in order, you’ll want to read through this guide that will assist you with matching your QuickBooks accounts and bank statements: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

If you have any other account type concerns or any reconciliation questions, feel free to let me know. I'd be more than willing to provide additional assistance. Have a good one.
