Making Customers Inactive

I understand how to make them Inactive

If I make a customer inactive, what happens to their information, such as invoices and payments? And if I make them inactive, is it possible to re-activate them if needed?

Thank you,

Lisa

Making Customers Inactive

Let me help with your question about inactivating customers in QBO, Lisa.

Inactive customers will only be hidden in your customer list. Invoices and other transactions will remain in your QBO account and will show up in your reports.

You can also make them active again anytime you need them back in0 your list. Here's how:

  1. Go back to the Sales menu and proceed to the Customers tab.
  2. Click the small Gear or Settings ⚙ icon above the list of customers. Then select the Include inactive checkbox.
  3. Look for the inactive customer on the list.
  4. Select Make Active under the Action column.

Here's an article about this for more details: Add and Manage Customers in QuickBooks Online
