Queries regarding Employee ID field on employee form in QuickBooks Online

Hi All,

Right now I am on trial version of QuickBooks Online Plus (QBO Plus) and have some queries for clarification regarding the Employee for and specifically the Employee ID field on this form.

  1. The employee form available in QBO Plus is just for recording the employee's data and has no integration with any other related area to generate salary/expenses according to attendance and working hours etc. Because the Payroll is available in QBO Plus. Kindly confirm my understanding?
  2. I want to utilize the Employee ID field to mention the employee's designation. Is it fine? As there is not field to record this info.
  3. I found that system doesn't allow to enter more than 20 characters in the Employee ID field. So, maximum 20 characters are the limit of this field - right?
  4. Is there any approval mechanism to finalize/post the employee data entered by the user?

Regards,

Abdul Rehman.

Queries regarding Employee ID field on employee form in QuickBooks Online

Payroll services can be activated in all versions of QuickBooks Online, Abdul.

However, it's currently unavailable in some regions outside of the USA, Australia, Canada, and United Kingdom.

You can also use the Employee ID field to notate the employee's designation. You're also correct with the character limit. You can only type in a maximum of 20 characters in that field.

Lastly, there's no approval mechanism when recording employee data, as long as the user is given access to that section.

You're most welcome to post another question if you have other questions in mind. Thanks!
