How do I accurately input my daily sales data? I searched it up and the account names are not what I see when I follow instructions so they need to be updated.

I run a retail store that sells phones and accessories. We also repair screens so any advice with that in mind would be helpful.

I'm happy to see you here in the Community, @integrobotswana-.

You've got me here to share some insights about tracking daily sales in QuickBooks Online.

You can enter a single sales receipt to report the total daily sales in QuickBooks. To accomplish this goal you'll need to create a customer specific for daily sales and set up its account. After that, you can now create an item, template, and start recoding the sale.

Here's a step-by-step guide to help you get you started.

Create a customer for daily sales:

  1. From the left menu, select Sales, then Customers.
  2. Select New customer.
  3. Enter "Daily Sales."
  4. Select Save.

Set up accounts for daily sales:

  1. Select the Gear icon on the Toolbar.
  2. Under Your Company, choose Chart of Accounts.
  3. Select New at the top right.

To give you more details about the accounts to be used and the complete details on this process, please see this link: Record your total daily sales in QuickBooks Online.

Know that you can always reach out to your accountant to help ensure the accuracy of the accounts to be used for your transactions.

To add up, you always have the option to add an item in the system and use it on your sales transaction. Here are some links that you can use to guide you in managing them:

I'll be right here to lend a helping hand if you need further assistance with tracking sales. Just leave a reply below. Take care!

Hi there, integrobotswana-.

I appreciate you for coming back to the thread to add additional concern and clarification. With this, I'll be sharing details about integrating POS to QuickBooks Online.

There are various types of POS systems that can connect or integrate with QuickBooks in order to sync data. That said, you can always sync your POS to QBO. Please note that you'll have to use another third-party app to bridge the two software. You'll also have the option to contact POS Customer Support since it's a third-party application. Any concerns about syncing or integrating the third-party software into your QBO account are best handled by their technical support.

Please refer to this article to see details on how the Sales page gives you the summary of your customer's transactions like open and paid invoices: View sales transactions.

I'm also adding different articles to further guide you in effectively managing your business using QBO: Help guide for QuickBooks Online. It contains topics about advanced accounting, banking, and payments.

In case you'll need further assistance in dealing with your transactions or POS, don't hesitate to get back on this thread. We're always here to help you.
