Multiple Currencies on Balance Sheet

Please can someone tell me how to run a Balance Sheet Report that shows the multi-currency balances in their own currency, rather than exchanged in to the home currency?

Multiple Currencies on Balance Sheet

Hi Sarah!

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community. I got information about the currencies in the Balance Sheet report.

We can only have the amounts in your home currency in a Balance Sheet report. There is another report called Balance Sheet Detail that can show you amounts based on an account’s currency. I'll share the steps to achieve this.

  1. Go to Reports.
  2. Search for Balance Sheet Detail and click the result.
  3. Click the small Gear icon on the report page and then Show more.
  4. Select the Currency and Foreign amount checkboxes.
  5. Click Run Report.

You can also make customisations to filter the data you only need.

Feel free to visit us back through this thread if you need more help with reports. Take care and have a good one!

@SarahRuston

Consider having a 3rd party app (e.g BI app) to do so.

Multiple Currencies on Balance Sheet

Thank you for your very helpful reply!

When I run the report as you suggest - see attached - the actual USD & EURO balances still do not show up, but the TL exchange balances do?

I've messed around with the wheel and more as you suggest but still, I cannot get the correct USD & EURO balances to show up.

Do you have any further suggestions for me please?

Thank you so much.

Multiple Currencies on Balance Sheet

Thanks for getting back here in the thread, @SarahRuston. I'll take care of your concern and share a workaround to get through this, and run a report that shows what you need.

You can consider pulling up the Transaction Detail by Account report. You'll then want to export it to excel so you can manually remove and edit the home currency and replace it with the correct currency. To begin, here's how:

  1. Go to Reports, then search for Transactions Detail by Account in the Search box. Click the result.
  2. Click the Customise button.
  3. Expand the Rows/Columns section, then click the Change columns link.
  4. Check Currency.
  5. Once done, click Run report.

You'll then want to click the Export icon beside the Gear icon, and export it to Excel.

In addition, here's an article for reference in case you'd like import your Excel file into your QBO: Import data from other software into QuickBooks Online.

It'll always be my pleasure to help if you've got other QuickBooks-related concerns. You can use the REPLY button below and leave your comment so that I can assist you once again. Take care, and have a great weekend, @SarahRuston.
