Suggestions for QuickBooks

Hi QB Team,

The first major change needs to be brought into the Customer Care service of QuickBooks which disconnects the call we do not have the company id as registered with Quickbooks which most of us don't know and even giving them all the company details does not yield any results. They should be able to find the customer details by company name, address also. Seems like they don't trust customers and labels all callers who don't possess company registration details with QuickBooks as "FRAUDULENT". Call is disconnected automatically when you can't answer company details is really pathetic when you are in urgent need of expert advice on the Accounting Software which is not free at all and is duly paid for....

THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED FIRST OF ALL.

1. There should be a search option in Audit Log to carry out searches in our books of accounts.

2. Audit Log does not allows us to export in Excel or other text formats which further restricts its usefulness as it only allows export of data to PDF only. This needs to be fixed.

3. There should be an option to bulk download each and every account with all transaction details for the selected periods in one go so that business can save all transactional details for the said financial year safely in cloud and other backup options. This can also be compared in case later on there arries some discrepancy in past period data which have already been Audited.

4. Automatic Cloud backup of all the data should be available as well which is the most significant feature of any Accounting Software in the world.

5.  There should be an option to completely lock our books of accounts after the audit has been carried out for the specific period so that no one can make any changes and if any changes are being made there should be an option to have a detailed one view summary of all the changes made after the specified audit date for the business which can be analysed to find any discrepancy which may occur if the books of accounts were subsequently changed by someone either knowingly or unknowingly.

Quickbook is a wonderful Accounting Software which is very much easy to use, efficient, have great accounting reports & MIS, affordable pricing, third-party integration to some extent and many more great features. But it is also limited in some crazy basic features and functionality which seems to be too basic to have been ignored by QB Developers.

  • Lack of industry and business-specific features (such as lot tracking, eCommerce and barcode scanning)
  • Lack of key reports outside of accounting
  • Instability/system crashes
  • Lack of direct professional support. Generic and impersonal support. QuickBooks is extremely popular, but as a result the support you receive may not be personalized and specific to your business. The benefit of moving upstream is that you will receive specialized support by those that understand your business (some businesses more than others).
  • File-size issues: Entry-level software is not built for substantial data requirements and may begin to slow as your business grows. To prevent this, it is common for a limit on data file size to be set, which forces you to purge your data on an ongoing basis.
  • Limitations on the number of users
  • Double entry and keying errors: If you use a separate system in conjunction with QuickBooks (even Excel or paper) you probably already know the troubles of double-entry and keying errors. Taking information from one system and manually transferring it to another is like walking a tightrope with accidents just waiting to happen. Keying errors are particularly common when data does not move automatically throughout the system. Ultimately this can lead to incorrect business information and data loss – impacting customer satisfaction and hurting your bottom line.

  • Standalone applications lack integration: One of the most compelling reasons to move off QuickBooks is to have a single system to manage your business. No more paper, excel or inventory add-ons to worry about. Dealing with a single interface with interconnected data can do miraculous things for productivity. If your business is doing well and has grown significantly from when you first implemented QuickBooks, chances are you are in need of more robust and integrated software. Making the jump may not be easy, as the next step can seem prohibitively expensive.

It tends to be particularly problematic when addressing robust inventory management concerns. If inventory management is crucial to your business, QuickBooks may fail to meet business needs. Inventory Accounting needs a sea change for QB.

Quickbooks needs to start creating values and improve day by day based on what is needed by current business needs and requirements.
