Why is there a difference in trial balance

Hi there, ayushi-gupta-qur.

Thank you for visiting again the QuickBooks Community. We aim to deliver customer satisfaction at all times that's why we address an issue as soon as possible. With that, may I ask for additional information on what difference you're referring to? I appreciate any further details so I can share an accurate solution.

For now, if you mean the difference in the balance between the Chart of Accounts and Trial Balance report, this might cause by the different currencies assigned to your transactions. With this, I suggest running the Balance Sheet Detail report and customise it. That way, you're able to show accounts balance with a different currency.

Here's how:

  1. Click Reports from the left menu.
  2. Search for Balance Sheet Detail report.
  3. In the Report period drop-down, select the date range you want to show on the report.
  4. Select the Customize button.
  5. Go to the Rows/Columns section and click Change columns.
  6. Put a checkmark to the Currency and Foreign Amount checkboxes.
  7. Hit Run report.

Once done, you'll be able to see various entries connected to several accounts with different currencies on the report.

Just in case you want to memorise this report, feel free to check out this article for the detailed steps and information: Memorise reports in QuickBooks Online.

Please keep in touch if there's anything else I can do to help you succeed with QuickBooks. I've got your back. Have a great day and be safe.
