You're referring to changing home currency, correct? If so, you'll need to turn on the multicurrency feature in the company settings first. Before we proceed, please note that this option is only available in QuickBooks Online (QBO) Essentials, Plus, and Advanced versions.
Additionally, you can only change your home currency as long as you have not set up Multi Currency yet. Here's how to do it:
- In QBO, go to the Gear icon at the top right to get to the Account and Settings.
- Select the Advanced tab at the left pane, then tick the Edit (pencil) icon in the Currency section.
- Choose your Home Currency in the drop-down.
- Hit Save and Done to complete.
If Multicurrency is already turned on, the system won't allow you to change the home currency. This is to avoid messing up the books, especially when adjusting the sales tax.
