Display Name on Invoices

Hello,

We added additional surcharges in our invoice such as Service Charge and Local Tax.

is there a way we can change the display name on invoices to "service charge" instead of VAT?

we currently have 3 VAT line item prior the total invoice amount, and we'd like it to show VAT, Local Tax and Service Charge instead.

Thanks in advance!

Thank you for following up, Koizumi008.

I'd like to share some insights about the VAT tax term used for invoices in QuickBooks Online.

Yes, as my colleague mentioned above, it works as a design and to show you the tax rate for each line items.

Another way to setup a service charge to an invoice is by creating a service item.

Like this:

  1. Go to Sales, then Products and services.
  2. Click on New.
  3. Select Service.
  4. Give the fee a name.
  5. From the Category ▼ dropdown, select the category that best describes the fee.
  6. Fill out the rest of the fields as needed.
  7. Once you're done, select Save and close.

Display Name on Invoices

Hi there, @Koizumi008

Let me share some insights  about changing the display name on invoices.

The option to change or add a display name for the three-line item on the invoice isn't possible since its works as designed. If you want to change the name of your service charge item.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Settings ⚙ and then select Products and Services.
  2. Find the service item you want to change.
  3. Choose Edit in the Action column.
  4. Update the service name.

Additionally, I'm attaching some articles you can use to email and personalize sales forms in QuickBooks:

Display Name on Invoices

Hi @AbegailS_

Thank you for your suggestion.

Do you mean that I cannot change the VAT term in the invoice since it's per the design? i'm not sure if I am able to attach this photo to my post, but this is what it currently looks like.

Our customers might ask why we are topping up 3  VAT items, when it should be labelled at Vat, Local Tax and Service Charge.

My products are labelled just fine. Just this surcharges.

Hope you can share workarounds etc. :)

Thank you again,!
