Hi there, info1178.

Thank you for visiting again the QuickBooks Community. I'll be sharing details to ensure you can start making export invoices in QuickBooks Online. Then, how it will affect the GST returns.

There's a simple way you can easily download the data entered into your file to your local hard drive or Excel. I suggest running the Invoice List report and customize it if needed then, export this to Excel. This will show you the list of all Invoices and taxes for each entry which is the composition of your total tax liabilities.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu at the left panel.
  2. Choose the Invoice list report in the search bar.
  3. Click the Customize button and filter the necessary details to show it on the report page.
  4. Click Run report.
  5. Select the Export button and choose Export to Excel.

On the other hand, exporting invoices from the QuickBooks system won't affect the GST returns since you're only transferring a list of data. However, I recommend opening this article to view different details on how GST affects QuickBooks users: How GST impacts QuickBooks users.

Lastly, please refer to this article to view detailed steps on how to export non-posting transactions and attachments: Export data, reports, lists, and more from QuickBooks Online.

Don't hesitate to post again here if you have further questions about exporting data or managing your QuickBooks account. I'm always here to help. Have a good one.

If you are running an exporter company, you should consider having the following app to integrate with your QBO.
