Happy Friday Momentumers! Before I completely strategy-you-out (ha!), I want to know, "What's the #1 strategy that will create the greatest positive impact on your KPIs?". Wow - simple yet SO POWERFUL!! Literally the frosting on the cake!!! Knowing this ONE THING can be the difference between ending 2018 by the seat of your pants, or ending SUPER STRONG with Q1 revenues already in the bank!! KACHING!!!! OK, track away and then let me know ASAP!!
Weekly Key Performance Indicators
@Anonymous, I'm bummed I missed the webinar. I was really looking forward to it, but business and those left coast time slots got in the way of making it happen!! I'll do my best to make the next one; because I know there will be a next one :smileywink:
Unfortunately, I haven't been thinking about KPI's or strategy much...I know, a cardinal sin when building and operating a business!! The final countdown is underway for tax extension deadlines and we have some biggies and complicated ones over here, so my nose is to the grindstone.
However, there will be many discussions post-October 15th between my father and I (and maybe a few in between) about where this firm is going organizationally, the types of clients we want, niches to explore, expansion, workflows, etc., etc., etc. In our business, major change needs to be made between Oct. 15 and Jan. 1. We just don't have the manpower to do otherwise.
There is a good foundation here, but effecting changes and implementing a well-crafted strategy would make it a GREAT firm! For now, the name of the game is getting through tax season redux and meeting our deadlines!! Wish I had some sweet strategy to lay down for you, but that is the current state of things here in NH.
@Peter_G_Stone, you were missed but we've got you covered with a soon-to-release recording that you and your dad can watch together! #businessbonding :)
I know you and your comrades in the accounting game are in your sprints, so keep your head down, self-care up, and pop in whenever you need a breath of positivity! Thanks for taking the time to reply! J.
That's awesome @Anonymous, I had meant to ask if you would be doing that. I'll definitely continue to pop into the community for positivity! Good vibes are very needed during this strenuous month. Times like these make me hungry to craft a strategy that will enable me to have a business that is not reliant on tax work; the tax game is a gift and a curse let me tell you! The goal is to pump up MRR profit centers like bookkeeping and consulting, allowing me to keep & seek out the tax clientele that I WANT and scale back the rest.

YES, YES, YES @Peter_G_Stone, you are only one or two strategies away... I can't wait to go deeper with you about how to do this in October!!
By no means am I stating that we have the whole game figured out, but I will let you and anyone else interested in knowing what has helped my business partner and I grow our business.
As a very wise woman I once met says " To grow you have to let go" and that is exactly what we did.... kind of! Over the past 1.5 years, we have been working with support teams that help our three-person company accomplish tasks that would otherwise seem impossible. While I wish I could tell you that the entire journey has been amazing, I can tell you that it was very educational.
Like accountants, not all are created equal, and our first attempt utilizing an outsourcing company was horrible. Fortunately, our misfortune turned into opportunity once we found Analytix Solutions. Like most of the accounting industry, I was very hesitant to look into or even consider such a taboo concept of utilizing an outsourcing solution but it has turned out to be the best decision for both our clients and our own business.
Like I said, it took us some time to find a company that we felt we could trust, but after working with the owner of the company Satish and his team we were amazed how aligned their processes were with our own and how easily they accommodated our very demanding workflow. Not only did they help us pick up the ball dropped by the previous company, they put in the extra hours to ensure we still met the deadlines we had promised to our clients.
Since February we have continued to develop a true relationship with each member of our valued team and together, we have been able to grow our company for the third year in a row.
In life there are only a couple things that you truly own in life, and the most important to me is your name and your reputation. With that in mind, I can tell you now that I am willing to place my recommendation on Satish Patel and his company Analytix Solutions as a resource that will help you turn that strong foundation into a profitable plan for success! Reach out to them and tell them Parkway sent you. Even better yet, if you plan to be at QuickBooks Connect, come find me and I will personally introduce you!
Thanks for the advice @ParkwayInc. I took a very quick look at their website and as far as appearances go, looks like a very professional operation. Might be a relationship for me to explore. Unfortunately, I won't be going to Connect this year, but it is an event I plan on attending in future years!
