I am searching for a system that will allow me to barcode our work orders so that we can track their progress through our manufacturing process. Basically, our products go through three steps: Cut, Sew, and Assembly. I would like to scan a barcode at each step to track progress. I read in some other posts that Quickbooks can not print the barcode in a template (ie. our Work Order form). I can work around that by printing separate barcode labels and sticking them onto the work order. However, I am looking for feedback on managing the scan information through Quickbooks. Has anyone used the barcode scan capabilities in this manner? Any feedback is appreciated.
