Allow users of QB Self Employed to create custom categories

As the subject suggests - this is a request for Quickbooks to allow / enable users of QB Self Employed to create custom categories for their expenses & income.

The current categories do not fit many businesses and too many items are being categorised as 'Other' expenses or income which is not satisfactory for accounting purposes.

 

Therefore - please add the option for users of QB Self Employed to be a able to create custom categories for their expenses & income.

Thank you.

Thanks - but how does an idea get votes? Do people have to randomly come across this single page on the internet for that to happen?

Or is there a place where Feature requests are listed for users to vote on them?

It seems unlikely that people will just randomly happen to come across this page.

 

Is there a place where Feature requests are listed for users to vote on them? Somewhere that other QB users are likely to see?

Hello Ashleigh,

Thanks - Do you mean that currently the only way to request a feature is by posting on a page where there is very little chance of anyone seeing the feature request - (or any other feature requests) - so it is highly unlikely that any feature requests will get the 50 votes required for the Quickbooks Product Team to review them?

This system doesn't seem to be working - I have seen pages requesting this feature (custom categories for self employed users) dating back several years - there must be many people who would find that useful, but are not seeing the feature requests - or are not aware that they even exist.

 

Quickbooks - please make this system more user friendly and the feature requests more visible so that new feature requests have some chance of being seen and interacted with.

One suggestion to Quick Books customer support - if someone requests a feature that has been requested before by another customer - please direct them to the place where they can add their vote to the request.
