We created a service item Service Dates and changed it every month in the items list "Service from 01/01/2019 to 01/31/2019 " February was "Service from 02/01/2019 to 02/28/2019". Then we open every invoice and add the Service Date, Service. We have a couple hundred Memorized Invoice we do this to, and it takes a while, it is very tedious, and everyone hates doing it. Is there a way to have this automatically be added? Any ideas</P>

As such, the revenue comes to us via the credit card processing company that processed the CC for&nbsp; all sales, and the cash collected from the vending machines.</P><P>Each machine has a credit card reader and collects cash. There are several machines at various locations. These sales receipts are collected weekly and the credit card processor deposits to the bank directly weekly, and we deposit the cash collected weekly.</P><P>I'm trying to understand how I would enter the sales receipts since we do not deal with individual customers directly. We never have any outstanding invoices either.</P><P>In the 'Enter Sales Receipts' page, it asks me to select 'Customer:Job', then 'Template' (only one template available labeled "Custom Sales Receipt"), then from the options for cash, check, credit/debit &amp; e-check. Then date and 'Sold To'.</P><P>And this is where I'm trying to figure out how to best enter the data.</P><P>Is there some way to address the vending sales such as these?</P><P>&nbsp;</P>

<P>I just became the acting Treasurer for a NPO...essentially a 'makers' co-op for sharing equipment. The closest I have to experience is a class 20/+ years ago. A casual view of our financial accounting shows it is a mess (requiring huge effort to reconcile for taxes) and we are not set up for any kind managerial analysis.</P><P>&nbsp;</P><P>We have several shops such as woodworking or welding. At present we have three potential sources of income: 1.) subscriptions to the org which give access to all the shops, 2.) &nbsp;quick (16 hours or so) classes hosted by individual shops, 3.) and, under development, semester-length in-depth classes partnering with charter schools and a foster-care transition program.</P><P>&nbsp;</P><P>I want to set up a managerial accounting system so that we can make informed decisions about investing in our shops and classes. But I need to do it without messing up our future reorganization on the financials/tax side. For the moment, I'm focusing on the short classes. We charge a fee for the classes based on "materials fees + 2x instructor class wage, of which we get half." I want to set the chart up to isolate these three segments as sub-categories within the relevant shop. Then:</P><P>&nbsp;</P><P>1.) "Materials Fees" would be allocated to the individual shop to support their operations</P><P>&nbsp;</P><P>2.) The instructor's pay would go to them (being essentially transparent to us except as payroll)</P><P>&nbsp;</P><P>3.) The rest would go to the organization as a whole for overhead, building remodel, etc.</P><P>&nbsp;</P><P>My first question is, can this be done in QB?</P><P>&nbsp;</P><P>Then, is it better to use accounts and sub-accounts, or classes and sub-classes.</P><P>&nbsp;</P><P>And, is there a better approach I'm missing because I don't know what I don't know?</P><P>&nbsp;</P><P>Ultimately, I'd like to roll up income and expense by the three programs -- subscriptions, short classes, academy classes.</P><P>&nbsp;</P><P>Thanks for any thoughts, links to articles, book or article suggestions, QB pointers, etc.</P><P>&nbsp;</P><P>Dw</P><P>&nbsp;</P>

I have used 2016 and am now using QBks for Mac 2019 Desktop = in past I could edit the toolbar by clicking the icon to customize it [grey tools crossed over] == the icon still survives in 2019 as long as you have a vertical icon layout but not horizontal = is there any way to do it in horizontal mode? ANSWER - I did open it in Vertical and pulled out the ones I didn't need == when I switched back to Horizontal toolbar the icon to customize was there == so apparently because the icon to customize couldn't be seen in horizontal [my preference] you have to first delete some of the icons and then switch back to horizontal and then you see it = sorry to take up time and space but figured out the answer and thought I'd share it.

So I go back up to Company-Documents - Document Center and the check&nbsp;is there.&nbsp; QB says it is because I have a virtual server. I disagree, when you put the file on a local computer and try it they still do not show up in the attach file screen. So the virtual server theory&nbsp; doesn't stand up. I have had this issue for&nbsp; a very long time and just today, after having to scan the same document several times to attach it to multiple documents, I have had enough. Anyone else heard of this issue?</P>

So, basically, I want to know if I am able to use OneDrive for my company file, close QB on my desktop at home, and then open QB on my laptop at work and continue where I left off. Then be able to do the same at home (having closed QB on my work laptop). I am by no means anything close to a 'power user', and have read lots of conflicting information on the ability to do this. Thanks very much for any suggestions.

I'm looking for additional insight to using classes in Enterprise We are brand new to the upgrade, and want to make sure I don't make a huge mess of our books, when I hear that the Class Tracking can be so powerful. We have several "departments" we track spending on; no income comes specifically TO those departments. An example would be travel. We have (multiple) conventions, (multiple) straining, an executive board, etc. We get a lot of requests from delegates, or family members to attend these events. We'd like to better track travel under each of these departments (or categories) so that we know if we are over our budget. Another example, is that we get a lot of event requests... aside from what we already have going on. How would you recommend tracking these better? Is class tracking recommended? Currently, which gets too messy in my opinion, we have something like (and it goes on and on...) General Travel - Airfare - Lodging... Honor Travel - Airfare - Lodging... <P>I would like a way to mark time as billed in the "Billable?" field of a timesheet on Quickbooks Desktop.</P><P>&nbsp;</P><P>I know that I can invoice by time and expenses, create and invoice based on the time and then delete that invoice. However, this is a tedious method to simply mark the time as billed.</P><P>&nbsp;</P><P>This is the situation:</P><P>&nbsp;</P><P>I use Tsheets to track time. I would also like to send out invoices as quickly as possible. Time in Tsheets can't be exported to Quickbooks on the same day that it was entered. Therefore, if one of my employees completes a job in the morning, I can't invoice it that afternoon. I have to wait until the next day and export the time and then invoice for it.</P><P>&nbsp;</P><P>As a work around, I have been billing for the job on the same day anyway and adding a note to the time that says "billed" so now the time is marked as "unbillable" with a note that says "billed". I would like a quick way to mark these time entries as billed.</P><P>&nbsp;</P><P>An alternative solution would be a way to mark the time as "billed" in Tsheets so that when it is exported to Quickbooks, it is already marked as billed.</P><P>&nbsp;</P><P>Does anyone have any ideas?</P>

<DIV>Hi All,</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>I have reached out to Revel as well, but thought there may be other users on the forums who use QBO w/ Revel POS.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>We are using Revel in conjunction with Quickbooks Online Advanced.&nbsp; I want to have the sales summary by Parent class sync to Revel as is seen on the Operations Report (if you are not familiar with Revel,&nbsp; they use classes and parent classes (like QBO) so the parent class would be the highest level summary of sales for the day).</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>In Revel we have maybe 100+ classes across establishments 5 locations and 50 POS stations, but they are all assigned a parent class. The Sub-Class we use for Revel reporting and analysis, and the PARENT class is what is associated with an income or expense account.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Is there any way we can setup the data sync not to bring in 100+ classes from Revel, but only sales by parent class?</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>I have another QBO account I use for testing and it messes up the database to have all the Revel classes created automatically in QBO.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>The sync creates an invoice each day with the Sales by Parent Class, CC, Cash, Check, Discounts, Gift Cards so we DO get what we want, but the 100+ classes that come over too is not ideal.&nbsp; Revel creates a daily invoice with the sales under the customer "Revel POS".</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV><STRONG>If we can't fix the data sync is it better to:</STRONG></DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV><STRONG>a)</STRONG> manually enter the sales and payment transactions as a journal entry</DIV><DIV><STRONG>b)</STRONG> enter the data as an invoice</DIV><DIV>- Is there any difference? <P>We have monthly invoices for several projects ("sub-customers") with many of our customers. Therefore, it would be very beneficial for them to view and access ALL invoices if/when they create an account to login and view any invoice. Right now, a client has to find the email invoice from QBO and follow the link within it to view just one invoice. They can create an account to save their&nbsp; payment information, but I am surprised they can't view all invoices sent to them from that account. We have customers that "lose" invoices and have to find and re-forward them the original email. Why can't I just tell them to login and look for Invoice 1203?</P><P>&nbsp;</P><P>This would also be a good opportunity for advertising to other businesses how QBO is easy to use and good for them and their customers..</P><P>&nbsp;</P><P>Please consider adding this functionality to customers/clients through an enhanced "Customer Portal" experience.</P>

<P>I&nbsp;did an update to QB2019 that I processed.&nbsp; Immediately after the update I needed to restore to a previous file copy.&nbsp; Then that copy needed the update.&nbsp;I did a name change to the file before knowing that my Loan Manager data had not been transferred to the new file.&nbsp; Somehow neither the older files when updated have the correct .LMR file populated with all my loan history.&nbsp; How do I differentiate from a pre-restore version with a .LMR that will have my old data?&nbsp; Using the dates doesn't seem to help and I can't find a file that is larger than the empty one.</P>
