Yet there is an issue with how we can view our data in reports in that there is no applicable Billing Status we can use for our Fixed Fee or Per Unit Rate Services once we invoice the client. To expand further, time and costs sit as 'Unbilled' until we bill the client, therefore I have the ability to run time and cost reports with the 'Unbilled' filter each month for our Project Managers to review at client billing time. When I bill Time &amp; Expense, and pull the time/costs into the Invoice with the Add Time/Costs button, and then save the Invoice, and the time/costs change status to 'Billed'. Fantastic so far. Yet, where the issue lies is when we invoice a Fixed Fee or Unit Rate Service I don't pull time/costs into the Invoice with the Add Time/Costs button, instead I select the Add Time/Costs Button, and check in the Hide column all the time and costs that are being covered with the Fixed Fee or Unit Rate Service so the time/costs no longer show on the Unbilled Report when we run it the following month for client invoicing review. Now if I could use the Not Billable status to identify time/costs that belong to Fixed Fee and Unit Rate Services when running progress and job close out reports that would be fine, but we also use the Not Billable status for time/costs we are writing off on Time and Expense Service jobs. Therefore the Not Billable status includes written off time/costs, fixed fee time/costs and unit/rate time/costs, which is very challenging to analyze jobs throughout their life cycle with progress reports, and at job close out. QuickBooks won't consider adding a feature to the system unless enough people identify a need. I've attempted to reinstall quickbooks on several computers, and have found consistent replication of the issue. All computers in the office are running the latest update available, and I've tried downloading the installer again in case of corruption. I've also checked if these files exist/ed within the 2018 filepath, on both a workstation with the 2019 update applied, as well as one that was never updated from 2018.<BR /><BR />Has anyone found a fix for this?</P>

We also accept tips.&nbsp;&nbsp;</P><P>Our POS system does not integrate well with QB.&nbsp;</P><P>So, when we get our bulk deposits from Visa or MC or whatever, I call them "sales" inclusive of&nbsp; HST when I accept them into QB. These sales include the final amount that are rung in through the POS terminal: Tax, and tip included.&nbsp;</P><P>&nbsp;</P><P>&nbsp;I would like to figure out how to separate the HST inclusive sales, the non HST sales and the tips, and still ensure that I am not overcapturing HST.&nbsp;&nbsp;</P><P>I can pull reports from the POS system to see how much tax was rung through and how many tips and were collected. BUT, the POS system, in this report show which of these sales were Cash or not.&nbsp;</P><P>Not sure how to best make&nbsp; the adjustments to make it accurate.&nbsp;</P><P>&nbsp;</P><P>Any ideas?&nbsp;</P><P>&nbsp;</P>

<P>I manage multiple rental properties, many of which are in different LLCs.&nbsp; I use one credit card for all purchases.&nbsp; I put every receipt in a spreadsheet with three fields 1) Which LLC&nbsp; 2) Which Property 3) Category.&nbsp; My bookkeeper then manually enters that into Quickbooks Desktop (but she's open to using online or a different version.&nbsp; I've tried to use an app like Expensify, but it doesn't work for multiple LLCs.&nbsp; It assumes all transactions are on the same set of books.&nbsp; How can I easily scan the receipt and populate the 3 fields AND have these import into the correct books without manual and duplicative data entry or uploading a CSV file for each and every LLC/set of books? Can I upgrade from easy start for the sole purpose of importing a large number of bills. Once imported I was thinking of downgrading back to easy start. Thoughts?

I'm in the process of converting my existing accounting records to QB and have discovered that the Customer fields in QB are way, way too small for the names of about 75% of my customers eg: co-ownerships of 3 or more companies. Is there anyway to make the field boxes bigger? In my case, they would need to hold 4x or 5x as many characters as they do now. BTW: Ive addes the extra field boxes on the Additional Information tab and even those are way too small for the names of any one of the 75% of customers I'm talking about.

Hello! I have quite a few computers that are connected to the HOST computer. They are all connected through wire but sometimes the LAN connection will fail and it will change to WIFI. Because of this, my quickbooks becomes extremely slow in MULTI-USER mode. My other computers are able to have WIFI and LAN going for Quickbooks but this one computer is having the issues. I really want to prioritizes LAN. I have tried to change the LAN settings and toggle the IP Address but I am not expert. Right now my Internet Protocol Version 4 is as followed: IP Address: 192.168.1.33 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1 Preferred DNS Server: 192.168.168.1 Alternative DNS: Blank Can someone tell me if I am doing something wrong? It was originally working but now it has issues. When I turn off the WIFI and try to connect to quickbooks, it states that there is perhaps a firewall issue but I have turned off all the firewalls. Furthermore, when i use Quickbook Diagnostic software, it states it can open older company files on the host computer. Is something wrong with my Host computer or my workstation? Please keep in mind that my other workstations do not have this issue Thanks in advance

<P>Hi everyone! I am a very new user of Desktop Pro and a non-accountant. I eventually was able to install the product after having to install IE 11 as I didn't check that box when I set up my Win 10 Pro (why have 3 web browsers? Edge and IE as well as my preferred browser?). Now, whenever I use QB I get the ultra-annoying Error messages described in the title every time I use QB or try to reach the Community Help pages. I've gone into IE 11's preferences menu and turned off the "display script messages" and turned on the automatically debug script error problem options. Is there anything else I can do before contacting Support? I did a search of the error on these forums but nothing comes up that fits the problem. Thanks in advance for the help.</P>

<P>Hey everyone, I have an accounts receivable balance from a previous accounting system (for example 100 000$). I have done a journal entry to record all opening balances for every account so right now my accounts receivable account is 100 000$. It has been affected to the client in question. When I see the client's statement: it says journal entry #3 100 000$. I would like to import the list of invoices and information so that it is reflected on their statement, and I will be able to select which invoices are paid afterwards. So far I have been told that if I import the list of invoices, it will record sales and taxes on sales (as if they are new invoices). How do I proceed? Best regards</P>

Hi, Would be very grateful to learn the breakdown of the transactions to make the following scenario make sense: Owner setup Inventory on QB Enterprise (desktop) after he already paid for some of the bills through his personal account. He has been reimbursed for these payments. The inventory was entered without a bill. Now that the bills have come in, how do I enter in and ensure the inventory and bills agree, at the same time recording his reimbursement, and not affecting reconciliation? Actual Accounts associated with this and debit/credit transactions will help immensely to record all this accurately. I feel that the reimbursement has to be recorded initially - but then how do I adjust the inventory and the bill? Would his reimbursement go to a Owner, Other Current Liability Account, and then record from here to the inventory/bill? It's a puzzler to me. Thanks so much! Nancy

<P>Hello,</P><P>I work for an Engineering and Construction Firm, and we have 3 different billing types - Fixed Fee (also known as Lump Sum), Unit Rate (e.g. per Site Visit, or per Month), and Time and Expense. The QuickBooks Billing Status feature is extremely helpful in our accounting, with the Any, Not Billable, Unbilled and Billed status filter options for reports. Yet there is an issue with how we can view our data in reports in that there is no applicable Billing Status we can use for our Fixed Fee or Per Unit Rate Services once we invoice the client. To expand further, time and costs sit as 'Unbilled' until we bill the client, therefore I have the ability to run time and cost reports with the 'Unbilled' filter each month for our Project Managers to review at client billing time. When I bill Time &amp; Expense, and pull the time/costs into the Invoice with the Add Time/Costs button, and then save the Invoice, and the time/costs change status to 'Billed'. Fantastic so far. Yet, where the issue lies is when we invoice a Fixed Fee or Unit Rate Service I don't pull time/costs into the Invoice with the Add Time/Costs button, instead I select the Add Time/Costs Button, and check in the Hide column all the time and costs that are being covered with the Fixed Fee or Unit Rate Service so the time/costs no longer show on the Unbilled Report when we run it the following month for client invoicing review. Now if I could use the Not Billable status to identify time/costs that belong to Fixed Fee and Unit Rate Services when running progress and job close out reports that would be fine, but we also use the Not Billable status for time/costs we are writing off on Time and Expense Service jobs. Therefore the Not Billable status includes written off time/costs, fixed fee time/costs and unit/rate time/costs, which is very challenging to analyze jobs throughout their life cycle with progress reports, and at job close out. QuickBooks won't consider adding a feature to the system unless enough people identify a need. Therefore, I'm putting it out to our QuickBooks Community, if your company would also find it helpful to have an additional Billable status that would separate Fixed Fee/Unit Rate time/costs from Written Off time/costs, please make note in this discussion, or through your QB Send Feedback link. <P>I am flipping my employees from cheque to direct deposit. They are paid every other Friday and the pay period normally covers 10 days (cuts off one day before pay day). See the calendar dates below. I want to keep that pay schedule but the pay period now needs to cut off sooner to allow the 2 days extra processing time for direct deposit. In effect, there will be an "interim" pay period of 8 days. When I updated the pay schedule to end on July 30, QuickBooks kept the ten-day pay period and set the pay period from July 17 to July 30 but the employees have already been paid for July 17 and 18. I need to create a custom pay schedule that is only 8 days for the interim period. Is that possible?
