Let me share some insight on how to handle sales tax payments in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Once you process a sales tax payment, you can no longer edit or delete it. What you can do is to make a sales tax adjustment in QBO through the Make Adjustment option.
Go to Taxes.
Click Sales Tax.
Click the View button next to the tax you need to adjust.
Click Add an adjustment.
Then, click the reason for adjustment, the adjustment account and add the amount of the adjustment.
Click Add at the bottom.
