Schiffer went on to say, “Without systems, growth really leads to burnout. And for myself specifically, about two years ago, that's exactly where I was. I was doing more revenue than I am today. But I was burnt out and, frankly, just wasn't making the profit that we should have been. The number one reason was visibility into my business, and I completely lost that visibility.”


Schiffer’s team was pushing to get work done, but they didn’t have a holistic understanding of where the business really stood. He knew they needed to pause and take stock if they wanted to continue scaling, growing, and focusing on increasing revenue.


Schiffer was essentially building NS Builders as he was going. He never took the time to reflect and understand if what he was building was for good for himself—or even the business.
