With only one day to go until Accountex 2015, we continue with our rundown of Q+A sessions with speakers who will be presenting at the QuickBooks Theatre.
Up next is QuickBooks’ own Deepti Sahi, Regional Product Management Leader for Europe. She tells us what she’s looking forward to when presenting her Accountex session, “How do you run the practice of the future today?” and shares her predictions for the accountancy industry over the next 12 months.
What are you most looking forward to at Accountex 2015?
Over the past year we have really built out the team and the product in the UK. To better serve our UK customers moving forward, I am excited to build stronger relationships with our accountant partners and better educate myself on how we can make them more successful.
There is so much happening in the accounting sector right now, especially from a technology point of view. What do you find most interesting about the changes in the profession?
With intuitive, easy to use bookkeeping solutions now widely available, small businesses are looking to their accountants to focus on advice and insights along with the compliance jobs. It’s interesting to see is how different accountancy firms are reacting to these changes in different ways. It highlights the critical role that companies like Intuit play in helping accountants understand and deliver on these new expectations.
What do you think the next 12 months is going to look like for the industry?
The next year or two will see significant acceleration in technology adoption driven by three separate but complementary trends: comfort with the Cloud, innovation in the private software sector and public sector’s focus to drive efficiency through technology e.g. through the digital tax center.
Why should attendees not miss your session at the Intuit theatre?
The accounting industry has seen monumental change in the last 12 months. Come see how you can remain relevant and grow your business in this ever-changing landscape.
Deepti will be speaking at the Intuit QuickBooks theatre on Wednesday 13th May at 11.30am. For more information on our speakers either visit the Accountex website or go to the Accountant News section of our Small Business Centre.
