Ever thought about starting your own business or growing your existing business? Then come aboard the StartUp Britain bus to receive expert advice, talk with Intuit’s expert accountants and discover national initiatives available to help fund and develop your business idea.

The first port of call for the bus is Portobello Market in London so come along to meet local business advisors and entrepreneurs. The Intuit team will be on hand offering expert accountancy advice and the best ways to manage your money as you start your business. Intuit Pay, Intuit’s new mobile payment device will be in use at the market, helping stall holders take affordable, secure card payments.

One of the exciting small businesses using Intuit Pay at Portobello Market is celebrity-endorsed message fashion brand, Point View Attire, owned by young entrepreneur Remaro Hibbert.

Remaro recently won a free stall at the market for six months, along with £1,000 start-up funds, a business start-up support package and business insurance by winning the Market Enterprise Launch Pad competition (MELP 2013).

Remaro says:

“Intuit Pay is proving extremely beneficial to my business as a lot of people are short of cash when they come to the market. Customers often have to run to the cash point which gives them a chance to re-think their purchase or get distracted by other stalls on the way. Because I can take card payment there and then, I cash-in on the impulse buy and take far more money in a day.”

He says that Intuit Pay is perfectly suited to trading in a market situation, which is crowded with other vendors all competing for the same captive audience:

“I find that because I can take payment on the spot, once I have drawn customers in with my sales pitch, I’m guaranteed a sale.”
Face-to-face trading is helping Remaro grow and establish his business too:

“The opportunity to be on Portobello Market for six months using Intuit Pay allows me to increase brand awareness but also allows people to get a chance to get to know the face behind the brand.”
