Can I change the address on my employee's ROE?

Hey sharwell43,

 

It's great to see you being pro-active about ensuring the information on your ROEs is up to date. The payroll solutions available in QuickBooks Online make it easy to submit forms accurately, which is vital in ensuring your employees receive their benefits in a timely manner. There are two addresses displayed on an employee's ROE, both of which can be changed at any time. I can guide you through this. 

 

QuickBooks Online Standard Payroll is designed with a focus on giving you control over your books. ROEs are produced for your review, so you can easily make minor changes to some of the information when creating them online through your Service Canada account. Updating the employer's address just takes a few easy steps:

  1. Click on the Gear icon and select Payroll Settings.
  2. Select General Tax Information.
  3. Update the address as needed then click OK.

The employee's address is just as simple to update once you include inactive employees:

  1. Head to the Employees tab.
  2. Right above your employees list, change Active employees to All or Inactive employees.
  3. Click on the employee's name then click on Edit employee.
  4. Under Profile, edit the Home address then click Done.

Advanced Payroll Powered by WagePoint automatically files your ROE forms for you, giving you more time to focus on running your business. Because of this, it's crucial for all information to be perfectly accurate to avoid causing delays. If you haven't already produced this ROE, it's just a couple simple steps to update the employer's address:

  1. Click on the Gear icon then choose Advanced Payroll settings.
  2. Update the Company address then click Save.

The employee's address is similarly simple to modify, and the steps are almost identical to the ones above for Standard Payroll. As we file these ROEs electronically, I recommend getting in touch with one of our payroll specialists if you've already made the employee inactive. They'll be able to request the update on our end, ensuring these get submitted in a timely manner. Choose one of the following options to connect with an agent.
