How do I mark employees as furloughed during our state's stay at home order while our business is temporarily shut down due to Covid-19?

COVID-19 TEMPORARY CLOSURES

Hi there,

Welcome to the Community. I hope all is going well on your end and you're staying strong during these hard times. I'd be happy to assist you with marking an employee as furloughed.

Depending on how you'd like to mark it on your end you can follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Employees at the top menu bar.
  2. Select Employee Center.
  3. Double click your employee's name.
  4. Choose the Employment Info tab on the left pane.
  5. Click the Leave of Absence tab at the top.
  6. Enter the Actual Return Date (see attached screenshot).
  7. Click OK.

However, if you haven't changed their status inside QuickBooks, here's how to change this:

  1. Go to Employees at the top menu bar.
  2. Select Employee Center.
  3. Double click your employee's name.
  4. Choose the Employment Info tab on the left pane.
  5. Click the Leave of Absence tab at the top.
  6. Enter the Start DateExpected Return Date, and Leave Paid
  7. Click OK.

In case you have other questions, feel free to contact our chat support team using this link here.

COVID-19 TEMPORARY CLOSURES

I have folks that we marked as leave of absence that are now coming back and we are having problem taking them out of the leave of absence.   I have done the open and mark return dates and save and that is not working.  I have tired just taking out all the information and it still does not change.  So I have just unmarked the status button and continued.

How do I get the leave of absence to change because nothing I am finding here s working.

Thanks

Kate

COVID-19 TEMPORARY CLOSURES

Hi Kate. I appreciate you reaching out to the Community. You'd need to go the Employee center and remove the ROE Code and Release Date on the Employment Info tab. After doing this, you'll need to change the Hire date to the date the employee returned.

If you're having issues with these steps, I recommend contacting our support team for further assistance using the detail below:

  • Phone1-833-317-2226 from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET or Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET.
  • Schedule a Callback: click (?)Help in the upper right > click Contact Us > explain your situation > click Let's Talk > choose Get a callback (Note: Callback errors are the same as regular phone hours.)
  • Social Media: Facebook and Twitter from Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. ET.
  • Chat: click (?)Help in the upper right > click Contact Us > explain your situation > click Let's Talk > choose Start a Chat .

One of our specialists will be happy to take a look at your account and help. Let me know if you have other questions below. I'm here to help. :)

I'm sorry but I don't know what you mean by ROE Code.

We only put information in the Leave of Absence tab for this layoff because all our employees are returning.
