Thanks for joining us. Adding your employees in QuickBooks Online Payroll is an important part of the payroll setup. To ensure accuracy in your books, it's essential to obtain precise information from your new hire. I'll be happy to share more on this.


After receiving a signed letter of offer and employee contract, the two most important aspects of new hire paperwork in Canada are your new employee’s SIN and TD1. You can obtain updated TD1 forms from the CRA and provide a copy to your new employee. After getting back the form with all the necessary information, you can now use it to set up the employee in QuickBooks Online Payroll. I also recommend talking to your accountant in case you might need more paperwork for your new employee. If you don't have an accountant, you can find one on our Find-a-ProAdvisor website
