Hello, everyone. I'm here to clear things out for all of you and provide some applicable solutions.
First of all, good job with trying to fix it by adjusting your Desktop View in the Preferences page. Normally, the Intuit Live Community window will not automatically open. This will only open if you've clicked the Help icon and selected QuickBooks Help. There's a setting in the Preferences section that we can uncheck to see if it resolves the issue.
Then, restart QuickBooks to verify that the Live Community window doesn't show up anymore.
But if all of you gets the same result, we can proceed with repairing the QuickBooks installation components. @Kevin-Tod please take note though that QuickBooks Desktop 2015 has been discontinued on May 2018. That said, the steps I'm about to share may or may not work for you, but feel free to give them a try as well.
